Pilea Glaucophylla Greyzy – Silver Sparkles

Like a scattering of silver sequins twinkling in the light, Pilea glaucophylla is a creeping ground coverer, making it a terrific trailer for those who want to add a fashionable statement or height to their interiors. This dazzling blanket of tiny, disc like leaves strings along on burgundy branching, contrasting against the silvery grey- green of the plant’s foliage and delicately cascading over the sides of its pot.

For what it doesn’t grow in height, the plant makes up for in length with stems reaching lengths of up to 1 meter.

Underwatering worries! Witnessing rapid leaf loss, or have the leaves of your plant started to crisp and curl? Straighten things out with a watering.

Left High and Dry! Plants used in hanging displays that are higher up tend to dry out quicker due to rising dry air. A little spray will go a long way.

Pilea like moist soil at all times, but not soggy. Avoid watering this plant from directly above, the dense foliage has a tendency to trap water increasing the risk of rot.

Average to warm temperatures from 16-24°C but can cope with as low as 10°C.

Humidity

Pilea Greyzy likes high humidity levels, but will tolerate lower levels with some assisted misting.

Feed

Apply a half-strength balanced fertiliser once or twice a month during the growing season.
