Dracaena Lemon Lime – Branched – HydroCare

As its name suggests, Dracaena Lemon Lime is a vibrant, fresh Dracaena with bright green, yellow and white leaves. It is wide spreading, with delightfully long, arching, lance-shaped leaves arranged around a central stem. Leaves are predominantly a lemon-lime background colour, sometimes tending towards yellow, with a central stripe of darker green edged in white.

The HydroCare branched version is a unique look that gives height and dense bushy foliage. Its zesty freshness brightens up home or office interiors, whilst filtering toxins from the atmosphere so you breathe easier.

Horty Hints

Rough Round the Edges! Brown leaf margins is often a symptom of too much fertiliser. If you don’t fertilise it could be the fluoride in the water. Fix it with filtered water.

Beware the Blotching! Yellow and brown blotches on the broad leaves? The plant has been too dry and hot. Refresh regularly and relocate somewhere more humid.

Disguised with dust? Have your broad leaves lost their lustre? Dust with warm water and a clean cloth. Try to avoid the leaf shine as it will do more damage than dusting.

Light

Dracaena Lemon Lime needs plenty of bright, indirect light to retain its vibrant colouring. Avoid direct sunlight as this may burn or bleach the leaves.

Watering

Keep an eye on the water meter. Water when the meter has been on minimum for 7 to 10 days. See our HydroCare set up guide for more information.

Temperature

Lemon Lime prefers average household temperatures between 16-24°C but can cope with as low as 12°C for short periods.

Humidity

Dracaena are hardy plants and do well in normal room humidity, however they do prefer higher humidity and will benefit from occasional misting.

Feed

Add a Hydroculture liquid feed every 2 to 3 waterings during the spring and summer months.

Height & Growth Rate

Fragrans Lemon Lime is a slow-growing plant which typically reaches an ultimate height of around 1.5 to 2 metres.

Toxicity

The sap of the Dracaena fragrans is toxic to animals. It is not considered poisonous to humans but should not be ingested.

Origin

Like most Dracaena, the fragrans ‘Lemon Lime’ variety originates from tropical Africa.
