Dracaena Fragrans Dorado – Branched

Permed and ready for the tiles, this Dracaena is here to be seen. Broad ornate foliage in a lavish green, edged with a yellow margin, curls into a compact jungle-like display. This dracaena feels thicker and fuller than its cousins and is a guaranteed show-stopper.

The branched variety of this Dracaena is thick with an array of jungle rich, curly foliage. Flashes of greens and yellows finish a look reminiscent of the tropics of Asia.

Horty Hints

Can’t handle the heat! These plants look like they like direct light, however too much sun will cause leaf streaking and eventually burning. Remove damage and remedy with some shade.

A light misting once or twice a week will prevent leaves from drying out, especially during the dry winter months.

Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust. Avoid using leaf shine on these plants.

Light

Dracaena fragrans Dorado prefers low to bright indirect light levels but avoid direct sunlight as this may burn or bleach the leaves.

Watering

Water well when the soil starts to dry-out at the top and allow to drain thoroughly. Relatively drought tolerant. Yellowing leaves are a sign of overwatering.

Temperature

Dorado does best in average household temperatures: between 16-24°C, but can cope with as low as 12°C for short periods.

Humidity

Will do well in normal room humidity, however they do prefer higher humidity and will benefit from occasional misting.

Feed

Apply a weak dose of a fertiliser once or twice a month during the growing season.

Fragrans Dorado is a slow-growing plant which typically reaches an ultimate height of 1.5 to 2 metres.

The sap of the Dracaena Dorado is toxic to animals. It is not considered poisonous to humans but should not be ingested.
